【Kaya’s solo live “Bara no soretsu: Vampire Requiem” at STAR PINE’S CAFE in Kichijoji on 4/30/2012】

Kaya’s solo live “Bara no soretsu: Vampire Requiem” had come to the tour final on April 30, 2012 at STAR PINE’S CAFE in Kichijoji. It had been a long tour starting in January and he had performed even in Europe. Tour final of Kaya’s solo live “Bara no soretsu: Vampire Requiem” was held on the day. Kaya had adopted the form of stage play in his live. We wondered what kind story he was going to unfold this time.

The light was turned out and the sound of the bells ring echoed at the venue. Kaya stood on the center of the stage highlighted by the spotlights. It was a simple stage with only one microphone. The music started to flow and the live was started with “Vampire Requiem”.
“Good evening, everyone. I hope you can spare your time to listen to my story tonight. Let me introduce myself. My name is Christina. I wonder why they’ve called me Kaya all the time.” The audiences laughed and called Kaya’s name.
“My real name is Christina but they often call me Kaya. I really don’t care how they call me if it feels alright. Please call me Kaya tonight”. We knew then that Kaya was going to unfold the story of “Christina”.
A diva Seila appeared with a huge sickle in her hand and joined to perform “Arachne”. Seila danced mysteriously teasing Kaya and pretending to cut Kaya’s neck. Kaya spread out his hands and asked the audience to “Give me your voices!” The audiences screamed and Addicts (fans) danced together with Kaya in “Ophelia”.

Kaya talked to the audience in the way we couldn’t imagine from his mysterious voice while singing. The audience looked forward to listen to his interesting talk as much as the live performance. “I used to color my hair as bright as yours. Is it natural color?” “I used to wear glasses once. How they call men wearing glasses, Megane (glasses) Danshi (men)?” Addicts replied quickly “Jyakkan Danshi (A little bit men)”. “Do you mean I’m on the gray zone? So you are!” The audiences laughed aloud.

“I used to have a sister I really loved. She was really a pretty sister with curly blonde hair. I can’t see her anymore, though. I used to go to the live or many places with her “Sotto Yurenagara(moving our bodies slowly)”. You can buy photos with her filled with my memories today.”
Kaya never forgot to advertise the sales of those photos. He hummed the line from the song of Laputa which Kaya was going to cover in the album “CRUSH!-90’s V-Rock best hit cover songs-“.
The scene was suddenly changed when Kaya said in a little voice “I was really happy in those days, but I can’t go back to then anymore.” Then HIZAKI from Versailles appeared and joined to perform “Nouvelle Mariee”.

HIZAKI was gone after the song, Kaya looked for HIZAKI, a sister, gone for good saying “Where are you going? Where have you gone? Please don’t leave me alone.” Kaya got lost in the dark while looking for sister and performed “Paradise lost”.
The ghost screamed “Christina” from the dark. Christina lost herself and longed for sister. Kaya screamed “Who am I?” to which Addicts replied “Kaya” spreading out their hands wide to Kaya and saved Christina from the dark.
Kaya continued to perform “Kugutsu” and “Medusiana”. The scenes in the story kept on changing.
“I’m going to light my own darkness by myself.” HIZAKi and Seila appeared again and performed the last song “Curse of Rose”. After the song Kaya vanished into the light where sister HIZAKI was waiting as though being saved from the curse.

At the curtain call there was an accident in which Kaya’s false eyelashes were gone by tears. Kaya identified with the role in the play so much that Kaya had been crying with the emotions. Kaya looked so pretty when trying to hide face with hands.

For encore Kaya performed “Rose Jail” to which the audiences looked most excited. Fans moved closer to the stage and spread out their hands trying to reach Kaya closer. After the solo performance by Seila, the screen was pulled down from the ceiling on the stage. The trailer for the new single “SALOME” to be released on June 20 was shown on screen.
After the screen was pulled up, Kaya appeared in the Arabian style new costume changing from usual Gothic costume. Kaya removed shoes seductively and dance hard crazily as though longing for love. The final song was “Addict”, which is also the nickname of fans.
Kaya got down on his knee and bowed deeply to fans saying “Thank you very much.”
Kaya had told the story of “Vampire Requiem” in which Kaya turned into vampire and suffered beautifully in the dark. What kind of story is Kaya going to unfold in the next song “SALOME”?
